Buyers are killing us

I am about to break down again.  There is so much pressure on me and things are going incredibly wrong on my business side.

The buyers are pushing us to close even earlier and it is killing me!  I have to get these 6 remaining quilts to the sandwiching point so I don't have to lay them on the ground!

The Pellon interfacing is bad and to get something works costs 3x the price.  I am doing that, but it is cutting my profit margin by a TON!

My machine is acting up and I am not sure it will make it through.  I need to get it serviced, but they take a week or more - no time.  Darrell is going to open it up this evening and we are going to look for lint.  This is killing me.

So, we don't even have the appraisal back yet and the buyers are wanting to firm up a closing date that is 3 days earlier!  Literally - one week from today!  I am dying!  We have not moved out yet, not ready with the RV - nothing.

We are working on things 18+ hours a day, I am stressed, not sleeping, we are bickering.  It is awful.

People keep telling me it will work out.  I WANT TO SCREAM!  Of course they will because I am working myself to the bone.  I am so tired of hearing that.  Could someone just say, that sucks - you are going through an awful time and I am so sorry so many bad things seem to be happening.  Please, tell me what I can do?

I say to that people when they are going through hard times.  I keep telling myself it will all be over in a few months.  It seems like a very long time!

  1. I'm sorry. You should tell the buyers NO! It will all go as agreed upon, NO changing anything. If the buyers are paying for repairs THEY want done before they move in, then WHY aren't THEY doing the repairs themselves???
I've wondered that since you posted what they wanted. It will be OK, eventually, and YES it DOES suck and is horrible in this moment. I don't think I would survive without gibbering in a corner with what you've described regarding what you guys have had to do!

    1. Thank you! I really think our realtor is just wanting to get it done. We have asked a ton of people about the repair thing and no one has ever heard of it. At this point, I just want to move past this. These people are getting an almost perfect house!

  2. I would just tell the buyers no can do. I thought it strange, too that they want you to do the repairs that they are paying for. Hang in there!

  3. Hey, just sending you support. No advice, but let yourself feel mad, upset, tired, scared, and all the other feelings. I get it, and yes, staying on the positive side for others takes a toll on you. Of course, as you said it will work out, but others need to just be told when things are not reasonable.

    1. Thank you! I did exactly that yesterday. Mondays seem to be the hard days right now - its like everyone saves it up and then just pours it out. LOL

  4. This DOES suck and with everything else on your plate, you don't have time for all of this added stress! You have a signed agreement. Tell your realtor to tell the buyers that an earlier closing is simply not an option. You've already bent over backwards for them. Enough is enough. Hugs.

  5. I'm so sorry to hear that things are crazy. You are correct, it does suck, & it's insanely stressful. Try some deep breathing, and I agree that pushing back on the buyers may not be such a bad idea. You can only get through what you can get through in this time frame.

    1. Thank you - I certainly miss my yoga! This very stressful time is really almost over. 2 weeks and we are looking in the rear view mirror.

  6. I can't remember if you used a realtor to sell your house? If you did, it's his/her job to communicate with the buyer. You have the right to say no to their request! You can say it politely, but say no. No need to explain why. In fact, ask them for an extension (explain about your work, RV not being ready, etc.).

    1. We do have a realtor. I think she just wants to end it. She is pushing us to give in. We gave her what we could do and now I am waiting to hear back.
